The Word is eternal
Before anything was made, Christ already was. Our lives rest within a story older and larger than our own. We begin from belonging, not uncertainty. The One who holds creation is present before the day unfolds.

John opens our eyes to who Jesus is.
John’s Gospel does not begin in Bethlehem. It reaches further back—to creation, to eternity, to the living Word who has always been with God and is God.
In the verses that follow, John tells us that all things were made through the Word, that life was in Him, and that this life became the light of humanity. Then comes the wonder at the heart of the Gospel: the eternal Word “was made flesh, and dwelt among us.”
John invites us to see Jesus not only as a teacher from long ago, but as God’s clearest self-expression—full of grace and truth, near enough to know, trust, and follow.
The Word brings light
Christ’s life shines into every shadow. Darkness is real, yet it does not have the final word. Light may arrive quietly, revealing only the next faithful step. Still, that light is enough to begin moving forward.
The Word came near
God did not remain distant. In Jesus, grace took on flesh and made its dwelling among us. The eternal entered ordinary life and made it holy ground. We are invited to meet that grace in the present moment.
